Needless to say, 2020 has been a difficult year for most. CNI is a small enterprise and we felt the stress in March, trying to adapt and pivot our services. We were lost and felt we were unable to support our Health and Care Workers as much as we wanted. We did what we could for the next 6 months.
THE ONLINE JOURNEY BEGINS
We posted free videos, hosted online groups, shared useful information and attempted to be uplifting & supportive in everything we did. We linked with charities and other social enterprises to support their members, also. We would have preferred to be standing next to our care workers and not supporting them from behind a screen..We realized quite quickly that being solely online was turning out to be a steep learning curve, communicating via zoom, vimeo and facebook live. Not all experiences were comfortable but were necessary to stay connected. On a positive, we learnt that we were able to reach more people online.
We decided to launch CNI in September 2020. We proudly displayed our Wellbeing programs for care agencies and a new support platform for care workers. We would have loved to celebrate at a launch party but with restrictions still in place, this was not possible.
CNI CARE PACK INITIATIVE
During this time, we decided to commence our first care pack initiative, where we sent parcels with flyers, leaflets, promotional materials and some goodies to Health Care Workers across the country. We facilitated over 80 parcel drops covering 13 counties reaching over 300 care workers in nursing homes, residential centres, home care, hospitals and in the community. This brought more joy to us than anyone receiving a care pack…We will resume the care pack initiative in early 2021 so do get in touch!
CNI AWARDS & RECOGNITION 2020
During the summer,we were delighted to be recognized as 1 of 13 social enterprises to pivot during Covid 19 by Social Entrepreneurs Ireland . In October, CNI gained a place on the New Frontiers Programme, receiving a 6 months business supports package funded by Enterprise Ireland. To say we are thrilled is an understatement,Thank you!
CNI DEVELOPMENT PLANS FOR 2021
CNI plans to carry out further research and pilots in 2021 while we develop our new CNI Digital Health Care Technology. We will continue to be available to support Care Workers via phone and online support mechanisms . Limited classes, workshops and programs will be on offer during our product development phase.
